Update on Bible Seminary
   We now have 7 students. Please pray for them as they grow spiritually and center their lives around God’s Word and God’s calling on their lives. We are looking forward to soon opening the Seminary to students outside of our Local Church in Cieneguilla. This year has been a great learning point for us to build from.

University and School Ministries
We praise the lord for the doors that have been opened for us to enter several Schools and Universities to share the word of God.

Update on University and School Ministries
   We have been in several public schools over the years and have seen hundreds come to Christ, and even more presented with the true plan of Salvation. With hosting groups and all the other ministries we have going on we haven’t had much time to focus just on the Universities. There is however an overwhelming amount of Universities here in Lima alone and we continue to pray for more laborers and more opportunities to enter with the Gospel.

Soccer tournament Outreach   We are always looking for new opportunities to share the Gospel. The people of Peru are so very kind and open to meet new friends and receive God’s Word. The Lord led us to host a soccer tournament for the public schools. A friend who has a trophy shop in Virginia made and donated 100 professional medallions and three beautiful trophies for us to give out to the participating schools. It was awesome!

We invited ten schools to have their teams represent them for the trophies and each player received a medallion with Romans 10:13 on the back. Midway of the tournament we presented the Gospel and gave an invitation to trust Christ. Several made a public profession and everyone received a New Testament and tract. We had several teachers, coaches, and even a couple of school bands there to support their teams. We’ve already started planning two more tournaments for this year. Four trophies and 200 medallions have already been made and donated for this wonderful outreach. Please pray with us that this outreach will reach many more for Christ.

We Praise the Lord that we will be doing another Soccer Tournament this year. Thanks to our dear friends brother and Sister Ben Biddle from Lexington, KY. who have made us beautiful trophies and medallions to give away in the tournament. We were hoping to have this tournament a couple of months ago, but due to the swine flu school was out for several weeks here in Peru. Now that school is back in session we are signing up teams now. Please pray for this event that many young people and teachers will put their faith in Christ as their personal Savior.

New Life Children’s Home   We are amazed at what the Lord has allowed us to see and be a part of at NLCH. We have seen both young and elderly sacrifice of their time and resources to come here and work to help give hope to these children. We have seen children brought from the worst of circumstances to a Home where they are loved and taught that they are special to God their creator. We have seen several come to trust the Lord as their personal Savior and commit their lives to serving Him. We have seen children that once were abandoned on the streets, in parks, or in the trash, become adopted and now have a family to love them and teach them God’s Word. We’ve seen God continue to bless day after day and meet every need that we’ve had to continue this ministry that belongs to Him! Would you please pray with us that our monthly support would increase to meet the budget that we have now, and even be able to take in more children.

Our goal is not only to give them rest for their bodies,
but rest for their souls;
not only peace in their lives,
but peace in their hearts;
not only food in their stomachs,
but food for their souls;
not only hope now,
but hope for eternity;
not only a home here, but a home in heaven.

Update on New Life Children’s Home    We have seen God do great things through this ministry. We’ve maintained an average of 30 children living in the Home with several more adoptions this year. We’ve recently taken in 4 new children and they are adapting very well. Many of the children are waiting to be adopted, and are waiting only to be placed with a family, or for their paperwork to be completed. Please keep them in your prayers.

Adoption    The goal of our Children’s Home is to see each child adopted and then continue the process of reaching more children who are totally abandoned. We are NOT an adoption agency, nor do we have the power to choose what child goes to what family. A family must go through an adoption agency in the US that is approved to do adoptions in Peru. Once their dossier is approved in Peru, the proper authorities then place a child (or children) with a specific family that they feel is right for both parties (the family and the child).

We have had the privilege of helping several Christian families adopt from Peru, but our help is limited because we can make NO guarantees what families will be approved, what child they will receive, or how long their individual process will take. These are things out of our control and must be given to the Lord and trust that HE is soverign and faithful. We do have a tremendous staff that is committed to helping do everything that we can do legally. We have nice facilities and Christian brothers and sisters that will make your stay in Peru much easier. Because of this type of ministry we receive calls about adoption almost weekly, and we are always glad to help in any way that we can. Please feel free to e-mail us with any questions concerning adoption or adoption agencies.

A Soup Kitchen   We praise the Lord that we have started several new bus routes here in Cieneguiila this year. Two of these new routes in very poor areas and have families who have very little to almost nothing to eat. Along with Sister Peggy Moran working these routes every Sunday morning and doing Bible studies in both every week, we have also been taking rice, vegetables, and other items to help feed these families. These are like neighborhood kitchens (mostly just set up outside) where the people who live in a particular area can help their neighbors in need. It has been a joy to see what God has done through Sister Peggy and our ministries here to help feed these families and through this, many have come to know Christ as their Savior! Please continue to pray that soon we will be able to build our portable soup kitchen and take this into different areas giving out soup, bread, and most importantly the Gospel! Hallelujah!

Reaching The Homeless   We (as a group) purchase heavy wool blankets and give them out with Bibles and tracts to people living on the streets. We go out at night and find people sleeping on and under benches, in trash dumps, doorways, sidewalks, parks, under bridges and wherever we can to share with them the love of Christ. There are so many wonderful stories of people of all ages, that we’ve been able to help sleeping on the streets with no one to love them. Several of the groups that have come to visit us go with us as we cover them with a nice warm blanket and share Christ’s love for them.

If you feel the Lord would have you to help with either of these ministries please send
your support or donations to our support address (CMC) c/o the Kennedy Family.
All donations and support given for these ministries will solely be used for
these ministries alone. If you would like more information, please write us at

Special Prayer Requests:

Projects:   As Missionaries we realize that there are many great ministries out there that you can give to. We also realize that many of you are already doing all that you can to help us, or others in the ministry. Thank you for all that you do! Please pray with us concerning these needs.

Praise the Lord the New Life Children’s Home is growing and reaching more children. This means that we need monthly support for this ministry to meet the budget and so we can take in more abandoned children.

In 2007 one of our supporting churches sent a container with Bibles, diapers, sewing machines, clothes, chairs, and a backhoe. The company that was used in Peru for receiving the container has gone out of business and has therefore caused us not to be able to get the container or the items inside. We presently have some friends working with government officials that are helping us locate the container so that we can get it out. Please pray for this. We have been given funds to begin building on the back property of the Children’s Home. We are building eight apartments where short term teachers/missionaries will live and teach at the Christian School. Also those working as interns at the Children’s Home will stay there. What a great open door this will be for those that God is calling to the mission field and opportunity for our ministry to help. Many Pastors and parents have trusted us with their young people over the years. We almost always have someone giving of their time, talents, and treasures to be there working at the Children’s Home. Thank you for trusting us, and giving us this wonderful privilege.

Library:  We have finished the construction on our library building. We still have to finish putting windows, tile, and electricity on the second floor. This will be used as offices and infirmary. We also need to furnish our library with tables, chairs, desks, books, etc…

There are several unspoken prayer requests that we have and projects that we would like to complete. We are asking for God’s wisdom!

Church Updates:

New Life Baptist Church

This has been a wonderful year for this church. We have seen many people saved and baptized and the church growing spiritually as well as in numbers. We are averaging between 250 and 300 on Sunday mornings. We now have 5 bus routes and workers who faithful visit and work these routes. Our youth group is continuing to grow as well. We now have a great group(over 50) faithful teenagers. This month (September) we plan to build our first very own youth center at the church. It will be made of wood with a cement floor. The youth are very excited about this!

Bro. David Taza is the Pastor and is doing a great job. He has a great vision for this church, his life, and for his Country. He also works with each ministry that we have going on and with each new church plant that we start. We praise the Lord for His blessings on this work and for giving us wonderful nationals to work with.

New Hope Baptist Church

This is a faithful group of people who really want to see their area reached for Christ. Located in Lurin. This is a church we started just off the Pan American Highway, south of Lima. We started in a building that was an old bar/pool hall (just perfect for a church!), but the owner had to sell it. The church started meeting in the home of one of the members until we can find a building to rent. Pastor George is living and working in Pachacutec, so he and Pastor David (along with a few other Preachers) have been working together and we hope to have a larger building rented by March, so the Pastor will be able to live there as well. We recently was able to visit the church here stateside that helps support this ministry on a monthly basis and give greetings to them from their church in Peru! Thank you One Accord Baptist Church!

Please pray for this work. Since the owner sold the building we were renting, we have not been able to find a new place.We hope to have another building by the end of September. I look forward to giving you updates in the weeks ahead of how this church is reaching this area for Christ. Please pray for this area (Lurin) and this church family.

PACHACUTEC-

Calvary Baptist Church sets on four connecting lots on the main road in the mountainous area of Pachacutec. We have a large metal building that was given to us by a Christian Brother in the United States. It set high on the mountain with a view of the shanty homes that surround it. This is a very poor area where there are an estimated 700,000 shanty homes. The people are very humble and receptive. We’ve been working in this area for more than five years now having open air meetings with visiting church groups, and others from our work here in Peru. We’ve seen hundreds saved in these mountains, but no church close enough to send them to. We have a desire to plant (or help plant) at least six churches in this area of Peru. We’ve tried starting Churches in the people’s homes, but because of the homes being so small we’ve always had more people that room. We want to thank those that have given specifically for this work to be built and for Calvary Baptist Church who faithfully supports this work.

Lima

We have plans to start a new church in Lima the first quarter of 2009. This will be an English Speaking Church for those living in or traveling to Lima, and those that are there due to their work. Several families have contacted us and are praying for this ministry. More will be said about this church in our next update.

English Speaking Church

We plan to start this work by the end of 2009.

Missions Groups:

Please pray for us, and the wonderful opportunities that we have to work with and host groups throughout the year. We have many exciting things scheduled, but what is so rewarding is to see God work opening doors, touching hearts, and changing lives!

We Praise the Lord for You!
